The Servants of the Lord Prayer Group (SOLPG), the 9th prayer group of the Pag Ibig Sa Diyos Catholic Community (PDCC), was formed in 1992 in response to the need for a more convenient prayer meeting venue for the large and increasing number of Pag Ibig members that reside in Muntinlupa and San Pedro, Laguna. The creation of the prayer group was fully supported by then Presiding Elder Tito Lorrie and Tita Simple Buhain.

The historic organizational meeting was held on May 8, 1992 at the residence of Tito Johnny and Tita Baby Orticio at Villa Carolina1 Subdivision in Muntinlupa. After prayerful discernment, the members present at that meeting unanimously agreed on to form a new prayer group.
An interim core was subsequently formed from volunteers, namely Jess Cel Gonzalez (head), Ed Nette Ella, Claro Jean Genio, Boy Guy Ilag, Greg Emmy Inocencio, Bobot Alice Mapanao, Nanding Ely Ocampo, Johnny Baby Orticio, Dante Cris Regudo, Danny Necy Salonga, Cyril Remy San Gregorio, and Benny Tess Tonel.

The Interim Core came up with many suggestions on the name of prayer group. After consultation with the members attending in the next prayer meeting, the name, Servants of the Lord Prayer Group gathered the most votes. The name appropriately declares the group’s desire to follow and serve the Lord.

On May 26, 1992, the Council Of Elders (CoE) designated the Don Bosco Prayer Group (DBPG), where most of the concerned members belonged, as the supervising prayer group of the prayer group – in – formation. BMPG then assigned Tito Soy Tita Say Macatangay as shepherd couple.

On June 3, 1992, the DBPG called a general meeting of members in the area to formally announce the plan to form a new prayer group. The meeting was held at the Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish Church (OLAP) in Poblacion, Muntinlupa City. Forty three couples from within the area were represented in the meeting. PDCC’s spiritual Director Fr. Sal Pico gave an inspirational talk and DBPG PGC Tito Barbie Tita Ruth Atienza discussed the requirements and guidelines for accreditation.

The first venue of the prayer meetings was the OLAP. The meetings were held on Wednesday as the church was not available on Tuesdays. Later, the venue was moved to the Parkhomes Chapel also in Muntinlupa to enable the group to hold its meeting on Tuesdays with all other prayer groups of the community. In March 2005, SOLPG moved to its current venue, the Parish Hall of the St. Peregrine Shrine in Tunasan Muntinlupa.
