After the EDSA 1 revolution sixteen couples living in South Metro Manila formed a prayer group. On March 26, 1986 twenty five(25) couples held their first prayer meeting at the house of Manny Che Laserna (a founding member). The group later moved to Holy Family Parish Church in BF Almanza, Las Pinas which was later adopted as the name of the prayer group. On April 12, 1986 the COE approved the accreditation of HFPG, the 4th prayer group of Pag-ibig.
Six (6) household were later formed supporting the programs of the prayer group among them the formation of a Saturday School for youth which later evolved to the Young Evangelized Servants of the Lord better know as YES Lord.
The HFPG was instrumental in the formation of OLFPG, SCPG, SAPG and MHCPG.
In 2001 a new organizational structure was introduced as Bro Oggie Sis Tess de los Reyes saw the need for a personalized pastoring. Clustering was a pioneer program in Pag-ibig. The twenty households were grouped to form 5 clusters.
HFPG had several prayer meeting venues as the need to move arises. From Holy Family Parish Church in BF Almanza which underwent renovation we moved to the Five Wounds Parish Church in Alabang Zapote Road. We went back to BF ALamnza after its renovation. Find the venue too big we moved to Mary Mother of the Church Parish Church in BF Resort Village Las Pinas City. As the number of our members who use public transportation increases – accessibility became a major concern. Finally a venue accessible to members who are commuting was found where the current prayer meeting is now being held at Tierra Nueva Village Chapel.
HFPG now has 23 households and 102 active workers. Our programs were developed to support the 3Rs (recruitment, retention and reactivation).
